General Comments 11/16 - 11/22

Again, feel free to comment on anything "AHS" - concerns, ideas, suggestions, commendations, etc.
What things seem to be working well for us at the high school?
Are there certain areas in which you feel we could improve?
Do you have any specific suggestions for us?

  1. How come I never got one of those surveys?

  2. If the 'surveys' you're speaking of are the same ones mentioned in the "NCA Committee Information" section to the left, those were administered during Parent/Teacher conferences last school year (2008-2009), so if you didn't have a student at the high school, you probably didn't see one. The primary reason those surveys weren't distributed out into the community was due to the limited timeframe our committee was dealing with in this NCA process.

  3. Thank you for working so hard to provide this avenue of communication. I do have a thought I would like to share. According to your intro;

    The Stakeholder Input Committee has been charged with identifying and providing various avenues of communication between the community and Augusta High School. Recent surveys indicate that this blog format would be preferred and utilized regularly by a majority of respondents.

    If the purpose of this blog is to increase communication between the community and AHS, then surveys need to be provided to the community, not just parents who show up to PT conferences.

    I do agree with having a blog like this. However, in the future, a survey asking how the community would like to communicate with AHS should probably be given to the community.

  4. I agree that the survey should have been more widely distributed, but we were pressed for time and PT conferences were the quickest way to get responses so that we could formulate a plan of action and get things rolling. Regardless, it has at least allowed stakeholders such as yourself to provide us with input in a bit more convenient fashion.
    Thanks for your comment!
